Nothing new in this article, but interesting how Finland's approach to #infolit & #medialiteracy includes learning about media ethics; and how this is an ongoing process through education, from kindergarten onwards, not just at one particular stage https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/climate-and-people/finlands-secret-weapon-fight-against-fake-news-kindergarten/

UK Govt has produced its full response to the Online Harms White Paper, incl a section on media literacy, outlining enhanced role for @Ofcom - see paras 5.18-5.32. Media literacy strategy to follow in 2021. Some interesting ideas, but a bit underwhelming. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/online-harms-white-paper/outcome/online-harms-white-paper-full-government-response

A huge challenge for Covid vaccine rollout will be to inoculate against conspiracy theories & vaccine scepticism. Insulting & sneering at anti-vaxxers is counter-productive, much better to prepare the ground urgently now through education & persuasion https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/nov/11/vaccine-infodemic-covid-pandemic-anti-vaxxers-campaigns-persuade

Unwarranted politicization of school curriculum. It's not up to govt to decide whether young people are exposed to anti-capitalism. Is IS up to govt to ensure that young people think critically & make up their own minds on basis of evidence @educationgovuk https://infolit.org.uk/information-literacy-and-political-censorship-in-the-school-curriculum/
