Digital inclusion and digital literacy

digital inclusionIn February 2016, the Tinder Foundation and CILIP’s Information Literacy Group organised two TeachMeet events to explore, with professionals from the public, academic and further education library sectors, how digital literacy contributes to address the challenge of digital inclusion. The report from the two meetings, which attracted around 40 participants each in London and Leeds, is now available here; InformAll helped to facilitate the London event. The TeachMeets addressed six topical themes of interest to libraries and library users: basic digital skills for the over 50s; using social media effectively; use of volunteers in libraries for digital sessions; the impact on welfare reforms on the use of digital services; supporting the use of different digital devices; and keeping library staff up-to-date with new apps and digital services.
